Thinking…bitch Part II

Thinking. Yet again. About my insecurities. Zeus. School. Money. Love. Love. Love. Judgment. The kids. My health. My weight. Sex. Pain. Tears and why I still have some left. The Professor. Rejection. Excitement. Danger. You. Me. US. Your fingers. Poetry. Spoken word. Drugs. Alcohol. More alcohol. “friends”. My father. My mother. Growing up. Security. Random as all hell. Death. Fear. Hate. 11:11 and how I always make it, and dedicate it to you with a *4hk&h*. New Love. Where to find it. My past. My present. Who’s going to be crazy enough to take a chance on me? 21. SAGITTARIUS. Solitude. Suicide. TWLOHA. I’m just thinking. Just thinking.

Entrapment.

I thought about trapping him before. I thought maybe if we have a child together he would be in love with me instead of just love me as a friend. My dumb ass. Does that method ever really work? Children who are brought into the world this way will always be at a disadvantage. But I really considered it. I told myself “It would be okay, because my parents and my Granny and my friends -especially Kamille- would be there for me.” I picked out names. I mapped out a money plan. I was set. I was ready to have a baby with a man that I loved. I was ready to put my life on hold, just to have this man love me back.

I stepped back.

“Tiffaney think about why you went to college.”

“Do you even remember?”

Yeah, I remembered. And that is the only thing that stopped me. Not the fact that the love of my life didn’t love me, but the struggle. Many people don’t know my life struggles, and many people won’t. I didn’t always want to go to college. I wanted to go to the NAVY, my father was pissed. But that’s neither here nor there.

The point is, I was one of those girls I talk about. The ones who were beat over some nigga that didn’t love them. “How desperate?”. And love blinded me. It’s not an excuse for my stupidity, but any female that has been in love understands where I’m coming from.

It Will Be Worth It Someday

I hate that I’ve become so needy with my wants. I eat McDonald’s everyday, yet complain about my weight. I go shopping, yet complain about my credit card bill. I say I want financial freedom, yet still waste money. So what am I going to do about it? Get proactive. No seriously this time. I have no choice! My future depends on it. So that’s going to be my goal. Let me back up. I got denied for a student loan, because my credit wasn’t up to par. So now I’m on a mission to get my credit up, so the next time I apply for one I don’t need a cosigner. But back to the matter at hand. I have to be a frugalista (person who leads a frugal lifestyle). This means that my state of mind has to be something like this:

How to be a Frugalista:
by Tiffaney Danielle

1. Set a budget for the week. The budget should include money for all NECESSITIES. Even spending $1 will set you back. Did you really need that back of gum?

2. Brown bag it. Do you really have to eat out everytime your lunch break comes? Save time and money by bringing food from home. You won’t have to waste time and money ordering out.

3. Buy a water filter. No only will you be saving money, but you will also be helping the environment. Did I mention that your back will thank you? No more lugging that case of water from shelf to cart to car to porch (because everyone puts it down once they reach the steps) to fridge. Trust me when I say it’s a sound investment.

4. Clip coupons. I know it might seem a little grandma-ish, but it really helps. Clipping coupons is really easy, just don’t start clipping coupons for things you don’t usually buy. But once you get the hang of the whole process you’ll be fine. You’ll even find yourself excited for the Sunday newspaper to hit your door. But, If you can’t wait that long you can always find coupons online.

5. Do your own hair. The beauty supply stores, Walmart, Target, your local supermark, and even TJ Maxx carry everything that the stylists will use on your hair right? So why not save time, money, and gas?

6. SALE SALE SALE. If you love to shop buy everything on sale. Every store has a clearance section, and there will always be some great finds. So just look a little harder next time.

Leaving the nest

I’ve been apartment shopping for a week now. I know! I am not financially able to consider the possibility of moving out of my parents home. But the thought is nice. Everyone is out there living independently and I’m over here begging for ten dollars just to wash my clothes. I can handle living on my own, I just need a real income. (I work part time at a clothing store)

However, I’ve established my credit. I’ve had my credit card since I was 18 and I have been paying on it to build my credit. Only now its different, because my mother is helping me with some of those payments while I’m in school. I envy those who have left the nest, because I still have to hear “Where, Who, When, Why”. Doesn’t it matter? I’m grown.

I’ve had a wonderful home life, but its annoying keeping up this front with them. I get noise when I lock my door..seriously? Why can’t I lock my door..I’m 20. What’s off limits to me, that I would want to do alone in the house with yall? Exactly. And its not like I have a history of doing reckless things, I’m the good child lol. But what can I do until then except wait?

Patience is a virtue.

I might be in love with security..

I went food shopping yesterday at the local Giant up the street from my campus. It was nice so my friend and I decided to walk. It wasn’t as quick as I thought it would be..it was OD crowded. But I finally got through and found a short line. While in line I spot a cute worker there. He spots me too and smiles. I turn around and converse with my friend about one of the magazines they put by the checkout. He comes by again..we lock eyes and he smiles again. He had a beautiful smile by the way. I pay and walk out and turn back to see if I see him. I see him and he sees me..and yes..he’s smiling..more like cheesing lol.

But I know I would never date him. When I think about being with someone I think long term. I used to work at a grocery store..so I know how the checks look. I don’t like judging people off their paychecks, but if you’re going to be with me then I need a salary. It not that I’m a spoiled, rich, brat, I’m far from that. But I know that I don’t want to have to freak out because money is an issue.

What do you think? Do you think I’m wrong for feeling this way? Should I go a little easier because of the economy?

Im gettin mine..lets see you get yours!

Talk to the hand

I have never been a fan of putting people down, because of their job.  But I can say that if we are going to get into a relationship, then our salaries must atleast match. This may sound like I’m being a gold digger, but that’s not the case at all. My home will be in good neighborhood. I will be able to leave my chairs outside without worrying that they will be stolen. I will be able to run early in the morning with no reason to carry any weapon..(pretty much like a neighborhood I’m in now) I can’t have champagne taste with a beer budget. I do not want to live paycheck to paycheck, because that’s not the comfortable way of living. I don’t want to feel like I’m treating someone to everything because they don’t have the funds for it.
This is a sensitive subject for many, because the old way of thinking was that a man was supposed to bring home more money than the woman. I say old way of thinking because now a days we women are pretty serious about getting that paper. And with men knowing this, they get upset and complain about how they don’t get any play because were BALLIN! And they’re just scraping by.

Question: Would you jump into a serious relationship with someone if they made a $10,000 less than you? $15,000? Why?

My answer: It depends. If he is in a job that needs experience to earn more money then yes, not a raise at Burger King but a real raise as in several thousand.

And by job I mean career. Many people don’t understand that a job is temporary, while a career is what you can see yourself doing the rest of your life..which more than likely requires a degree. But don’t get me wrong there are jobs that are very successful that don’t require a degree to have you BALLIN OUTTA CONTROL lol.

Question: Would you date someone without a college degree?

My answer: Yes, if they had a successful career.

Now what are your answers?
